Coming soonHow to choose well.
Wherever you are in the country, a few simple things can make your first consult count.
Confirm board certification.
A dermatologist listed with the PDS, or an allergologist with the PSAAI, has completed accredited specialty training. Check the directories above before you book.
Mention chronic hives when you book.
Saying “recurring hives for more than six weeks” when you book helps the clinic prepare. Any board-certified dermatologist or allergologist can assess chronic hives.
Come with your story ready.
Good care for CSU is a partnership over time. Bringing notes on your pattern, even a phone photo of a flare, helps any consult go further.
Ask about follow-ups.
CSU often takes more than one visit to settle into a working plan. A clinic that schedules follow-ups proactively is a good sign.
Walk in prepared.
The Consultation Checklist gives you conversation starters, a symptom vocabulary, and a one-page checklist you can download for your visit.
